Welcome

Homemaker Services: Homemakers assist seniors in their homes with basic chores. Homemakers complete tasks such as dusting, sweeping, shopping, dishes, picking-up prescriptions, cleaning bathtubs/showers, sinks, toilets, and doing laundry for seniors. This service allows seniors, who need a little extra help, to remain in their own home.
Medical Transportation: Van drivers provide medical transportation for seniors 60+ to appointments mainly in Lancaster, Columbus and Athens. This much needed service is utilized by many seniors who are unable to drive in metropolitan areas. Local transportation is available in Hocking County to transport seniors to the center for daily activities, to local physician appointments, errands, banking, hair appointments and grocery trips.
Living Assistance:
Scenic Hills Senior Center provides the Living Assistance programs for seniors to assist them with daily living. These programs are supported by donations and the levy. Family is often relieved to have their loved one checked-on weekly. Center staff can help a senior get organized: closets, clothes, cabinets etc. Appointments for assessments to determine your needs can be made with the Program Coordinator. We can transport you locally. We're here to help.
Telephone Reassurance/Outreach: Volunteers and staff can call or visit older adults at their homes to provide a check and to let them know they are remembered. Referrals are happily accepted from friends and family.
How Much Does it Cost?
Services such as the homemaker program and transportation programs are provided on a donation basis. Recreational trips are self-supporting and have reasonable fees to cover driver wages, benefits and van operating expenses.
